Ellie Goulding Sets New Album ‘Brightest Blue,’ Featuring Juice WRLD, Swae Lee, Lauv & More

Ellie Goulding poses on the red carpet on arrival for the BRIT Awards 2020 in London on Feb. 18, 2020.

Ellie Goulding’s forthcoming studio set now has a title, a release date and a confirmed lineup of a-list pop and hip-hop guests, including a collaboration with the late Juice WRLD.

Goulding’s fourth album Brightest Bluewill drop July 17 and will be split in two parts, Brightest Blue and EG.0.

The first part, notes the British pop singer, reflects her “vulnerability” and our complex world “where relationships still dictate our happiness and heartbreak and can still be the most painful thing in the world.”

The Brightest Blue spreads across 13 tracks which “symbolize growing up and becoming a woman,” she adds in a statement, and includes the previously released “Power”

The second part spans five tracks and “encapsulates my confident, brave and fearless side and features all my recent collaborations,” she continues. EG.0’stracklist features “Hate Me” with Juice WRLD, “Close To Me” with Diplo featuring Swae Lee, her “Slow Grenade” collab with Lauv, and «Worry About Me,” her blackbear team-up she debuted earlier this month on The Late Late Show With James Corden.

The “Lights” singer has kept active during the lockdown. She was a featured performer in Global Citizen’s charity livestream One World: Together At Home and participated in the BBC’s Big Night In fundraising cover of the Foo Fighters’ “Times Like These,” which raised $45 million for Children in Need and hit No. 1 in the U.K.

Brightest Blue is the followup to 2015’s Delirum, which peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and the Official U.K. Albums Chart. Goulding’s first two albums, Lights(from 2010) and Halcyon (from 2012), both went to No. 1 in her homeland.

Over the past decade, the singer has won a pair of Brit Awards, including British female solo artist in 2014, and bagged three U.K. No. 1 singles, including the final leader of 2019 with a cover of Joni Mitchell’s “River” (Polydor/Universal).
